Historic Christmas Greeting
A greeting to the American People by President Calvin Coolidge, 1927. This is a French folded facsimile (8½X11” folded in 4), handwritten on White House stationery with a red border. The message is reproduced on the inside full sheet.
Opening the card reveals the following message: “Within you will find President Coolidge’s 1927 Christmas Message to the nation which reveals the deep spiritual background instilled in our thirtieth president through his heritage in the tiny village of Plymouth, Vermont. The simple eloquence of his written legacy belies the image of taciturnity given to the President by cartoonists of his day. “The message was carried by the wire services and appeared on the front pages of the nation’s press.”
