Col. John Coolidge: father of Calvin Coolidge(1845-1926)
 

Shopkeeper, town constable, deputy sheriff, town agent, insurance agent, part time farmer, and capable blacksmith, John Coolidge was a man of many talents. Calvin admired his father and constantly tried to please him. Calvin's academic pursuits and offices were important in his quest to receive his father's approval.
