The Calvin Coolidge Memorial Foundation owns and maintains the church and surrounding property. The Church was built in 1840 and dedicated as a Congregational Church in 1842. The building is in the Greek Revival style and the original iron thresholds were cast at Tyson Furnace in Plymouth. In 1900, the interior was redesigned in a Carpenter Gothic style by a local artisan, Willie Pierce. Hard pine for the woodwork was sawn at the local mill. The interior now offers perfect acoustics for the Estey pump organ. Other instruments and voices are often featured at the church with its outstanding acoustics.

The Foundation is pleased to offer a full range of services for Weddings and Receptions in this peaceful village in Vermont. In an affiliation with Winc Vermont www.wincvermont.com/ it is underwriting a wedding contest to “Honor Our Heroes” by awarding a winning couple a wedding ceremony at the Historic 1840 Union Christian Church in Plymouth Notch and a reception in the Orton Room of the President Calvin Coolidge Homestead site.

The historic Coolidge family church is a jewel in Plymouth Notch. The site features breathtaking views of the Green Mountains and valleys in which President Calvin Coolidge lived his boyhood. Catering facilities, dining and dancing are available in the new Orton Room in this pastoral historic village, off the beaten path. Advice for photography, catering, DJ’s, floral design, cakes, invitations, hotel lodgings and other wedding information is available. Please contact Kate Bradley or Stephen Woods for special arrangements for your wedding and reception (802-672-3389).
